Filmed in 1967, this film features the founder of Chito Ryu Karate Dr. Chitose Tsuyoshi, who was born in Akata Shuri Okinawa. He was a direct descendant of Bushi Matsumura Soken 1809-1901. You will see the Father Of Canadian Karate, Masami Tsuroka, at the Canadian Karate Championships. Karate Master Shane Higashi is seen demonstrating bo katas and defense against the sai. Also featured is the classic match between Hal Henshal and Fred Boyko for the Canadian Black Belt Championships. Mas Oyama features Masatutsu Oyama, the founder of Kyokushin Kai Karate. He is shown performing his famous bull fighting routine where he actually chops the horn off a bull. Also you will see the demonstration where he chops the top off of a bottle. You will see Oyama weight training and performing Naihanchi Kata. Oyama Sensei is seen training on the Makiwara in a severe manner. Much of this film we believe had been lost until this point in time and we are certain that anyone who appreciates the strength and power of one of the strongest karate ka’s the world has ever seen, will appreciate this DVD. It appears that some of this film was actually done in the ’30s or early ’40s.

T Shimabuku features the founder of Isshin Ryu Karate, Tatso Shimabuku. He is seen demonstrating kata, and weapons associated with his style. He is performing one particular weapons kata which has three sais. This is, in itself, a rarity. Shimabuku can also be seen performing empty hand self defense techniques and several weapons self defense techniques against an opponent. This film is excellent quality and was filmed in the 1960s.
